I think I just don't like water very much. But then again, I only don't like it because I almost drowned in the ocean once. I remember it hurt pretty bad, so really, what I mean is that I don't like pain.
[That puts things into proper context, now doesn't it?]
It's only natural to dislike pain. But drowning is of a particular sort. A very petrifying experience, as I understand it. I doubt there's anyone who could not shy away from water after nearly being taken by it.
...You were quite brave to join us, then. If I had known earlier I would have suggested exploring elsewhere for the time being. I'm sorry to make you relive that, or to worry on our behalf.
[Melinoƫ blows out a puff of air, almost as if feeling the chill of Olympus on her skin anew.]
I can only imagine so. You have my sympathies, and my hope that there never is a repeat.
[She smiles back though, even if there is cause for concern still.]
There was such a great deal of it after we removed the spear, anyone would have assumed the worst. Thankfully it was not the case. The creature should live I expect, though I am still uncertain as to whether it poses a threat.
[Then she hesitates.]
Though — [She halts again.] Well, perhaps it was simply the the depths themselves. But while in the thick of all that blood, I felt a sudden...weariness. As if all the blood I've ever lost were drained of me, and the weight of the past had clad me in chains. I had no such feeling until it surrounded us.
[ The description makes him feel cold. His body feels tense and his muscles stiff, like it's trying to squeeze the air out of his own chest, breath subtly picking up to try to compensate. ]

[She cants her head, hesitant.]
I suppose it was just the strangeness of the moment. Being clouded over by the beast's blood.
Though it seems some has splashed onto you as well, my friend.

I take it they trouble you still. You've said so little since we left the shore, I was concerned for you. I still am, rather.

[ He still smiles through it but like, IT SUCKED ASS! ]
It's fine! It's not so bad it sends me into a panic attack just by being in water. The blood, on the other hand...

[...]
When you were splashed with it, were you also afflicted with a strange feeling?
no subject
...Well, maybe not true. I can't stop thinking about some stuff that's not really helpful.

Were they the ones you lost to the water?

They both died in the line of duty. One to the snake-god, and the other... exploded...

[EXPLODED. well okay thinking about all the unusual ways Moros might have tried to keep Doom fun...sure.]
How terrible. But, in the line of duty, you were made to face a snake-god? Is that...what was it you did while you were alive?
